Move to Nisaba
Pocket alternative: where to save and read later
Pocket closed. Nisaba saves pages, keeps a readable copy and imports a Pocket export file you downloaded before 12 November 2025.
Pocket closed, so you need another place to save and read later. Nisaba saves pages, keeps a readable copy and imports a Pocket export file if you downloaded one before Pocket closed its export on 12 November 2025. Nisaba has no native mobile app and needs an internet connection.
What you need from a replacement
Write down where you save from, where you read and whether your old saves sit in a file. Test each one before you commit.
How Nisaba saves and reads
- Add link: choose Add link at the top of the screen, paste an address and press Enter.
- Chrome extension: click once to save the page you are on, or choose Later to put it in Read Later.
- Android: install Nisaba as an app from the browser menu, then share a page to Nisaba.
- iPhone and iPad: Safari cannot add Nisaba to the Share menu. Add Nisaba to your Home Screen and paste links into Nisaba.
Read Later in the sidebar lists everything you put aside. Open a save in the reader for a clean copy, highlight passages and add notes. Nisaba keeps the page text, so you can read and highlight it even after the site changes or disappears. Example: you save six articles with Later in Chrome on Friday and read them in your phone's browser on Saturday.
Move your Pocket saves

Pocket closed its export on 12 November 2025, so a new export is no longer possible. If you downloaded a file before then (ril_export.html or the CSV), choose Import in the sidebar, pick Pocket and upload it. You see a preview before anything is imported. In tests with sample files, the CSV kept title, URL, date added, tags and read state, and unread items went to Read Later. The HTML file kept title, URL, date added and tags, without read state.

Nisaba's limits
- There is no native mobile app yet. The web app works in current browsers on desktop and phones and can be installed as an app.
- The extension is for Chrome only.
- Nisaba needs an internet connection. If the connection drops, an extension save waits in a local queue and retries.
- AI proposes a category and tags for each save, and search by meaning uses AI credits. AI output can be incomplete or wrong.
