Ask your saved pages and get sources
Ask your library a question in plain language. Nisaba writes the answer from your saves and names the pages it used.
Ask answers a question in plain language from the pages you saved. The answer names the saved pages it comes from, so you can open them and check it. You choose whether Ask looks in all saved pages or in one workspace.
Ask a question
- Open Ask in the sidebar.
- Choose where to look: All saved pages or one workspace.
- Type your question and send it.
- Open the pages listed under the answer and compare them with what Ask wrote.
A sample question: "What did I save about keeping my data when a cloud service shuts down?" Ask writes an answer from your saves and lists the pages it used under the answer. Answers are marked AI-generated, and each listed page is a link you can open.
All saved pages or one workspace
Ask can look in all saved pages or in one workspace. Pick one workspace when the question belongs to a single project, for example the sources for a thesis. Pick all saved pages when you do not remember where you saved something.
The search index
Ask searches by meaning in the pages of its search index. The Search index card shows how many pages are indexed. If some saved pages cannot be searched by meaning yet, choose Index now. Opening a page in the reader also indexes it.
If an answer is thin or wrong
- Open the pages named under the answer and read the passage yourself.
- Check the Search index card. If some pages are missing, choose Index now.
- Change the scope. Ask in the workspace that holds the topic, or in all saved pages if the source sits elsewhere.
- Rephrase the question with words from the pages you expect.
- Use Find, the other tab in Ask, to see ranked results for the topic.
- Save the missing source. Ask writes its answers from the pages in your library.
Note: AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Please check important details at the sources named. Do not rely on AI output for legal, medical or financial decisions.
AI off, credits and data
Ask uses AI credits. With AI off, Ask still finds matching passages by keyword, and nothing is sent to an AI provider. If your credits run out, AI answers pause and keyword search keeps working.
Answers use OpenAI, which may process the data outside the EU, including in the USA. OpenAI only receives the content a task needs and, under its API terms, does not train models on it. Nisaba needs an internet connection for all of this.
